Wedding Ideas For A Summer Wedding

Looking for wedding ideas for a summer wedding? Getting married any time of the year and you are almost assured the wedding will be great. However there is just something special about summer weddings. Perhaps it is the brightness, the freshness or the warmair that the summer months have that draw people towards it.
Wedding ideas for a summer wedding can be endless once you get the big decisions made.

You can then focus on the items that scream summer. Items such as:
- Flowers
- Cake
- Your Colors
- Wedding Favors

In any event, it’s your wedding. Plan the wedding of your dreams, but pending on the time of year, you should take the following into consideration when making decisions.

Flowers
When choosing a summer wedding its best to pick flowers that will stand up to the heat and maintain there freshness through out the day. Particular flowers that have a lot of staying power, and will maintain there brightness and colors, are roses, orchids, birds of paradise, tiger lilies; just to name a few. You should discuss the type of flowers with yourflorist to decide which is best for your summer wedding. It is also best to buy local and in season, that way you have a better chance of the flowers lasting your whole special day.
When maintaining your flowers its best to have them delivered the same day and to tryand make sure there’s a refrigerator on site to keep them fresh. Also try to rememberwhen taking pictures to keep the flowers in the shade when not in use or between photos. It’s also a good idea to have a squirt bottle on hand so that you can give your flowers alittle cool mist every now and then to keep them from wilting.

Cake
There is so much you can opt for in a summer wedding cake, but the best thing is to gofor fresh flavors and brilliant colors. One suggestion when picking your ultimate summerwedding cake is to go for the fresh tastes of the summer such as fruits or fresh berries thatare in season. These can be used for the filling instead of the traditional butter cream. Thecolor of your cake depends on what you want. You can go bold and have bright greens with a mango color or go for a more subtle approach with a summer yellow and fresh clean white.

To decorate your cake you can have your cake designer match the flowers from yourbouquet and add them to your cake or you could do a sunflower motif. In addition, youcould use cute little honeybees, which are all edible. The key is to embrace the beautyof summer and be a bit more subtle in using what’s in season to bring freshness to your unique summer wedding.

Colors
You would think that choosing colors for your wedding would be an easy task. However
it’s more difficult in the summer because there is so much to choose from. Sometimes that could be a good problem to have. When you choose, consider colors that matchyour venue or your wedding theme, if you have one. A couple of good theme ideas for a summer wedding would be a Hawaiian luau. Your colors could be bright pinks with somegreens or you could go more subtle and have a beach theme with soft yellows and crisps whites. The groomsmen could wear khaki suits with a punch of color for the bow ties.

Wedding Favors
This is wear you can really use your imagination. For example, you can have little sunflower card holders that may include miniature little picnic baskets that you could fill with candies or candles. You can also add seeds for your guests so that they can grow their own little flower garden that will represent your garden themed wedding.
For a beach style wedding you could have sea shell candles with cute flip-flop key chains or palm tree card holders with ocean bath salts. For an outdoor reception you could havepersonalized fans with some cute bubble favors. The sky really is the limit.

Keep in mind, the summer months are also the most popular months to get married, so ifyour dream is to wed during the summer, you will need to plan in advance. Especially ifthere is a certain venue that you have your heart set on. So go ahead and take advantage of the warmth and romance that a summer wedding can bring, and remember to have fun!

I don’t even know where to begin with my review of Nicole Sanchez and Behind the Lens Maui. As a bride, it is very scary to book a photographer from thousands of miles away with never having met her. Let me put all your fears aside right now! If you are considering Nicole, you have made the right decision! Book her ASAP! Not only is she professional and personable, but her work is amazing. She captured every moment of our special day so perfectly. I can’t think of anything that she could have done better. We love our wedding pictures and we had a great time with Nicole! She is a complete joy to work with, she felt like part of the wedding party! I never felt like she was obvious during our ceremony. She took her pictures in a very inconspicuous manner, and never interrupted the flow of the ceremony. When taking pictures after the ceremony, she is quick and gets all the perfect shots!

Really and truly I cannot go on enough about how great Nicole is and how amazing her photos are. We are so happy we had Nicole as our photographer and highly recommend her to anyone and everyone!

Sincerely,
Stephen and Tara

Nicole’s work is amazing! My husband and I were married in Maui on May 2, 2011. We were lucky enough to have Nicole as our photographer! Not only did she go above and beyond what we ever expected, she is an exceptional person! Nicole has a great personality and was easy to work with. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable getting our photos taken. Right after our wedding Nicole was in contact with us regarding our photos to answer any questions and assist us in choosing our photos. Once we viewed our photos we were so happy. The photos were beautiful. The detail and color in the photos are immaculate. You can tell that Nicole has made photography her life! Nicole is very efficient and a true professional! I would recommend her in a second! Anyone getting married in Maui needs to hire Nicole as their photographer!

Wedding Ideas For A Fall Wedding

Wedding Ideas For A Fall Wedding

Weddings ideas for a fall wedding can bring a special feeling of warmth to you and your future spouse’s special day. Depending on where you live, you may have skies that are usually an amazing blue with beautiful pillowy looking white clouds or you may have the colors of the fall with the color changing leaves. There are many wedding ideas to consider for this time of season, so you may want to take the following into consideration.

A fall wedding can also bring amazing sunsets thus creating a wonderful and scenic background for your autumn wedding day. However, besides for the natural décor, remember to include your dress, decorations and cake.

Dress and Colors

Fall is the perfect time to be daring and try a shorter wedding dress on for size. The ground during the fall season can sometimes be a bit muddy and full of freshly fallen leaves with drops of dew covering most things. So why not go with a short wedding dress to avoid all the hassles and worry of having your perfect dress ruined. In addition, you will be able to wear and show off an amazing pair of shoes that might normally be covered up by the usually long wedding dress.

The traditional colors of autumn are oranges and browns, however throwing in a bit of color that is unexpected such as a striking green; a vibrant orange or a splash of teal can really brighten things up. Not to mention, it will also bring a sense of freshness and modern twist to the usual colors while bringing in your personality to the mix. Do not be afraid to mix and match colors. Go to a fabric store and get a bunch of sample colors and compare them together until you find the right color match for your dream wedding.

Decor and Cake

The decorations for your reception will be easy to find and pretty inexpensive to buy. One way to go would be with traditional decorations. Decorations that make you think of autumn such as pumpkins, twigs, berries and other items that you may consider going into a fall theme. Some great fall themed wedding favors would be to have some cute gift boxes in a fall color and include some ribbon that can add more splash of color. You can also include yours and your groom’s name and wedding date printed on them. Inside your boxes you could add some small candies or maybe some leaf shaped soaps.

To incorporate your fall theme into your wedding cake, you will need to ask your wedding cake designer what they might do and then maybe throw in your ideas. Fall is the harvest time for all who live in the United States, so why not have your cake designer add in some pumpkins, shafts of wheat or some beautiful fall leaves added to your cake design. You may also consider using the fall leaves at the base of the cake, then surprise your guests by going non-traditional in flavor with a red velvet batter or a peanut butter and chocolate cake instead of the traditional pumpkin or apple spiced cake. You could always go with those traditional flavors in the groom’s cake.

Flowers and Tux

When choosing autumn flowers for your wedding, the color is just about as important as the type of flower. There are delicate yellows, rich reds and fierce oranges that will look stunning in your bouquet and bring color and beauty to your special day. Also in autumn using rustic twigs with cute little blossoms would look stunning in some vases, along with a mix of flowers. The groom can sometimes get lost among the wedding plans, so why not make him stand out a bit and add some fall colors to his tux, maybe consider a napkin in his jacket pocket or his bow tie. While he won’t out shine his bride, it will give both him, as well as his groomsmen, a bit of style.

So remember, when throwing your fall/autumn themed wedding, it’s good to stick with traditional seasonal colors as your base and then add a splash of something that no one else would expect. This time of the year is so beautiful and if you time it right, most venues and churches will already be decorated for autumn, therefore you do not really need to add a lot. Use the beautiful bounty of the Earth to help bring in your amazing autumn wedding that both you and your guest’s will be awed by.
