Wedding Ideas That Can Add Life To The Party

There are so many fun wedding ideas that you can do with a ceremony or reception these days, but it can also be a bit overwhelming. Every bride wants their wedding to be the best and sometimes you can get caught up in it. Wedding ideas come in all shapes and sizes, so therefore you really just have to let your personality take part in it and just be who you are.

Since so many people these days are breaking out of the traditional wedding idea box and changing a lot of wedding routines by mixing the modern wedding ideas with the traditional, or by just going all out modern and following all of the new wedding trends, you can get a bit lost in where you fit in. So which ever bride you are it may seem impossible to choose from all the ideas out there. Before you start your research, write down what is important to you and your spouse when it comes to your wedding, then you can begin to weed out the things that will not play out for you for what you want in your wedding.

So relax and enjoy your time as you consider these, and many other wedding ideas that will make your event uniquely yours and leave your guests talking for many days to come.

Walking Down the Aisle

To make your wedding a little unique to your personality, consider changing your walk down the aisle and do something completely out of the ordinary that will surprise all of your guests at the wedding. One idea is to walk with your father down the aisle to a choreographed dance number or to a song that is special to the both of you, such as “Butterfly Kisses.” You could also pick a very upbeat popular song and have your whole wedding party get involved. Although this has been done before it’s still pretty unique. The only down side is that it might add a little extra stress on your special day due to you not wanting to forget anything or having to practice it more often than you want, but the reward usually is a lot of fun and memorable.

Spend some time watching wedding YouTube videos as they are sure to bring a smile to your face and people will definitely not forget it. Now if you have always dreamed of your father waking you down the aisle in the traditional sense, but you still would like to do something different, then maybe do a choreographed number when you and your wedding party enter the reception, which no doubt would be less stressful with the ceremony part over.

The Seven Spices of Marriage

Have you ever heard of the blessing of the seven spices? It’s a Middle East tradition where seven small bowls of different spices, which represent a well-balanced and healthy marriage, and are placed in front of the groom and bride. The couple will then each take a scoop from the spice bowls and put them in a bag together. The spices usually consist of:

Savory – to bring harmony to your two lives coming together
Paprika – represents passion in the marriage
Rosemary – will bring prosperity
Nutmeg – will be the romance in your marriage
Garlic – is to keep you safe from harm
Bay Leaf – to add an extra spark to your relationship
Brown Sugar – to ensure that you have a sweet life together

What spices can you come up with that represent your relationship and its own special meaning?

Guest Book Variations

Most weddings have a guest book. It’s a nice looking book that sits in the front as guests enter. They sign it and later will sit in a box or on a shelf collecting dust. Why not turn it into a piece of art or something that means a lot to the both of you. If you’re an artist or just enjoy painting perhaps you can draw something that matches the theme of your wedding or a large matted framed photo of the couple and have your entire wedding guests write a little note on it.

One wedding had a tree that had been painted on the trunk and branches. They would then have all their wedding guests dip one of their fingers in several different paints and put the fingerprint on the tree branch. Another idea is that if you are into technology, you can create your own technical guest book where your guests could upload photos and comments. Just have fun!
