My husband and I had Nicole photograph our Wedding at Gannon’s in Wailea this December. We don’t have enough good things to say about Nicole or our photos. We live in California, and decided on Nicole after doing online research and looking at the photos on her website. We emailed her some photos we liked of a friend’s wedding, and she was very receptive and excited that had shown her some images that we liked, so that she had an idea of what we wanted in our photos. We emailed back and forth a few times, and chatted on the phone a couple of times as well. She responded promptly to all of our calls and emails, and even helped us plan our shot list, our timeline for the wedding to ensure sunset photos on the beach, and recommended a hair and makeup artist… (check out Maui Mira… she’s also phenomenal). Nicole went above and beyond to help us with not just our photos, but also other wedding plans and advice.
When we got to Maui and met Nicole she was just as wonderful in person. She gave us all the freedom we wanted with our photos, but also was good at directing us, and all of our friends and family so that we could get great pictures. When we made a suggestion, she made it work, and when we didn’t she told us exactly what to do and where to go. After being in four weddings in the past four years and experiencing many photographers, I really appreciated that she was such a good director. She also is so personable and friendly that my husband, wedding party and I tried to convince her to stay at the wedding longer and hang out.
She had 5 hours worth of photos edited and available to us before we even returned from Kauai for our honeymoon. Five days later all of the CD’s arrived in the mail with photos better than we could have hoped for.
If you are getting married in Maui I highly recommend Nicole Sanchez at Behind the Lens Maui… Nicole, if you are reading this, Matt and I have joked about flying you out to take our baby pictures sometime in the next few years. =)
