There’s nothing like Mother Nature giving you a scare just before Halloween. I was getting my photo gear ready for my morning shoot and decided to turn on the TV. for background noise.

After I turned on the boob tube, I learned that there was a massive 7.7 earthquake in Canada a few hours before. They had not expected a Tsunami to hit Hawaii at first but, then they learned there just be wave approaching us after all. I heard a 6-7 ft. wall of water was expected to hit the Kahalui Harbor, just a few minutes from my home.

After hearing the news, I informed my 85 year old mom we what was going on and proceeded to pack up some cloths, gather important papers and grabbed the camera gear and headed up country.

A sigh of relief in Maui today as it was just a scare and another practice session for preparedness.
