.    In 1936, Japan was introduced to Valentine’s Day. Due to an error in translation from a chocolate company, only women buy chocolate for Valentines and are given to their husbands, boyfriends and/or friends. It is also the only day of the year where single women give men chocolate as a way to reveal their crush. However, men are not to respond for one month, on White Day March 14. White Day is also known as “answer day.”
