Ideas For A Wedding On A Budget

With today’s economy, many people are looking for ways to save money on their weddings and often have a tight wedding budget. If you are one of those on a wedding budget, here are just a few tips to help your pocketbook without giving up style.

The Biggest Expense is in your Vendors

Often the biggest expense is with the vendors you hire, so choose wisely and consider the most important to the least. Once you do this, the rest is easier.

Generally your largest cost is the food or with caterers. Take into consideration the costs and have some fun with it. One of the newest trends is specialized buffet bars. Perhaps an omelet or a taco bar is your preference. You might be surprised by how many people would actually prefer these methods.

Depending on your reception location, you will have to decide if you need to rent tables, chairs and linens. Often linens are included, but if not you may want to consider buying them and reselling them online afterwards to make a few dollars back.

Another vendor is the florist. You can keep the flowers to a bare minimum and only get what you really need and bypass the wants.

Remember, many of these vendors offer their service and then they become a distant memory. However, the memory that lasts a lifetime, and perhaps worthy of money well spent, is with your wedding photographer. If your flowers are not right or the food isn’t the best, so be it, but if you get bad photos, you will feel as if your wedding was ruined.

Do yourself a favor and really spend time finding a quality wedding photographer that fits within your budget. If you are doing a destination wedding, such as in Maui, then research Maui wedding photographers and see their online portfolios, pricing and reviews from their clients before making the call.
