Traditional Hawaiian Wedding

Hawaii has a unique culture that is expressed in multiple ways during a traditional Hawaiian wedding.

In Hawaii, there are musical instruments such as the ukulele that are commonly played as well as the sound of the conch shell. The conch shell signals the wedding is about to begin and announces the arrival of the bride before she walks down the aisle.

Wedding dresses are worn by women in Hawaiian ceremonies. The only accessories that really set Hawaiian weddings apart are the leis and headdresses. The Lei exchange is something that is a tradition in Hawaii. Flower Leis are necklaces made of plumeria, orchids, tuberose, pikake, crown flowers, rosebuds, ilima, ginger, Ti and Maile leaves are a tradition in Hawaii.

There are sometimes Hula dancers (both Male and Female), tribal drummers and fire dancers.
