Alexis Culbertson & Brian Crittenden decided it was time to tie the knot and decided Maui was the perfect location for a simple beach wedding with their immediate family and closest friends.
The couple searched for a Maui wedding photographer began and after several e-mails, I was informed that they wanted me as their wedding photographer. During the initial client consultation I learned that the couple was expecting their second child and that they additionally didn’t know the sex of the baby. One of the most important things for me to capture were shots revealing the babies sex. I can’t tell you how much fun it was to going through the planning process with Alexis and being able to witness it all unfold in front of my eyes.
The simple beach wedding was held at Ironwoods beach, and was coordinated by “Maui Angels ” who arranged the flowers and the minister. The ceremony was short and sweet, filled with love and emotion. After the signing, the minister and coordinator departed and we continued with photography. The couples best friends had the pleasure of revealing the sex of the expected child and so when it came to the long awaited announcement, the friends had a copy of the sonogram in hand and suddenly a large stream of blue colored paper floated through the air around the wedding couple. The joy on the couple’s faces gave me goose bumps and the father to be was glowing with joy observing the blue colored paper falling from the sky. The moment was perfect congratulations all around. The photography session ended with the couple kissing romantically at the edge of the ocean.
