Hurricane Wedding

This hurricane season has been a wild one with multiple threats to Hawaii over the past month. The fourth threat of a hurricane had been lingering for days giving me a bit of anxiety about this week’s weddings. As it turned out, we were once again lucky as the latest threat to Maui moved away from us but left us with some rainy days and flash flood warnings.

The rain clouds still surrounded the entire island and the wedding planner was a bit nervous that the client’s beach wedding could be rained out. When we arrived to the beach, we could see that it was raining in the distance as you looked across the ocean.  As a wedding photographer, I was pretty happy with the light and had a feeling that the couple’s wedding would be dry with the exception of tears of joy.

As I thought, the couples love was defiantly apparent, I felt the couples love for one another instantly as their eyes connected, it was magical. The ceremony was intimate, with both set of parents and a couple friends in attendance.   Following the ceremony, the bride and groom took a long walk down the beach and I captured some wonderful moments between the two love birds.  A big “Thank you” to Fay Hovey at Aloha Maui Weddings for coordinating this beach wedding and also to Robert Bosco for delivering a lovely wedding ceremony.

Lastly, thank you to Trevor Natividad for always being there to help me on my photo shoots and for doing a great job with the lighting.
